Modern Scandinavian Design
A minimalistic style using a blend of textures and soft hues to make a sleek, modern home which is warm and inviting. A home for a Kerala based Artist with a touch of his tradition. Aesthetically designed by our PGDID1 student SWAPNIKA. This Modern Scandinavian design is 2 storey residence building in wayanad, Kerala for a family of 5 people. The space includes 4 bedrooms a private living room, formal living room , art studio, library and play room for the children.
The ground floor comprises of formal living room, art studio and workshop, a coffee bar and an elevated mezzanine library to have conversations with guests and clients.
The first floor is more like the family space where the bedrooms which include a play room for the children, open kitchen and dining with a informal or private living room completing the house aesthetically.
Use of sustainable materials like laterite stone, glass, cane, pine planks, recycled timber, sky lights and UPVC windows with 2 stories having a slopped roof which adds a touch of vernacular Kerala elements with Modern Scandinavian Design.
The playroom is designed for 3 toddlers who are beaming with energy. A indoor play space is created with a foam cube pit , grab bars to swing along and a slide to keep them engaged and entertained.
Unique furniture inspired by lego blocks has been created in the form of storage unit with primary colors which helps to organise the play room in a vibrant and functional way.
